CALVIN PETERSEN

I am a director, performer and clown from Aotearoa (New Zealand). I trained at Toi Whakaari: The New Zealand Drama School, where I earned a Masters (MTA: Directing) with a focus in creating collaborative devised theatre.

I have lived and worked in Aotearoa, Canada, Europe and am currently based in Sheffield in the UK.

In my practice I draw on physical theatre, clown and bouffon training, creating work that challenges traditional audience-performer relationships. My work as a performer and director spans many forms, from traditional theatre, ensemble devised work, to circus arts and interactive audio experiences.
